DreamFighters Exclusive with Randy Couture

February 26, 2009 by admin

DreamFighters.com was able to catch up with Randy Couture to ask him a few questions. We would like to Thank Randy for always having time for us, and we encourage everyone to check out his NEW site:

XtremeCoutureLifestyle.com

DreamFighters.com: Randy, great speaking with you again. We know you are a BUSY man, and appreciate the time!

Randy Couture: It’s my pleasure.

DreamFighters.com: What have you been up to? How is the elbow?

Randy Couture: I’ve just been catching up on things at home and at the gym and gearing up for my upcoming movie shoot. The elbow is great. I had is scoped to remove some bone fragments that had been nagging at me for years. It’s recovering well and feels much better already.

DreamFighters.com: Any word on when you will be fighting next? We have been hearing word that you could possibly be fighting at UFC 99 or 100? Any truth to that?

Randy Couture: I’m hoping to get back in there this summer, but nothing is set in stone yet.

DreamFighters.com: Any word on whom you could be fighting? It’s been floating around that it could be Mirko Crocop. Has anyone talked to you about the possible match-up, or is it just rumor?.

Randy Couture: I’ve heard that name come up, but there haven’t been any serious talks. I don’t officially have an offer for that fight.

DreamFighters.com: If you were to fight Mirko, how would you feel with that fight. Would you try to stand with him?

Randy Couture: I think that would be a fun matchup. I definitely don’t think it would be in my best interest to get into a kickboxing match with Mirko. If that fight were to happen, I’d want to impose my strengths on him in the clinch and from the top position like I always try to do.

DreamFighters.com: Out of all the fighters in rotation right now, who do you want to fight the most?

Randy Couture: The fight I’d like most right now is a rematch with Brock for the obvious reason that the loss is still fresh in my mind. I know I can fight better than I did against him the first time and I’d like the chance to prove that.

DreamFighters.com: Any ties to Affliction?, or will you be staying with the UFC until you retire?

Randy Couture: I’ll be staying with the UFC, I have no ties with Affliction.

DreamFighters.com: It has been relased that Fedor is going to be in talks with the UFC to fight Brock. Do you have any desire to possibly fight Fedor if he comes to the UFC?

Randy Couture: Absolutely. That’s been sort of my dream match-up for a number of years now so if the opportunity arose I’d be all over it.

DreamFighters.com: Vitor Belfort trains alot with Extreme Couture. Do you think he is ready to challenge for the #1 Middleweight title?

Randy Couture: I think he has looked great in his last two performances. He really seems to click with the training staff here at Xtreme Couture, particularly with Shawn Tompkins. I think as long as he stays focused and keeps pushing hard in training, he matches up well against any middleweight in the world.

DreamFighters.com: Randy, is there anyone you would like to thank?

Randy Couture: I’d like to thank the whole crew at Xtreme Couture. We have a great team and a lot of exciting things coming up this year. Check out our new website, XtremeCoutureLifestyle.com, where you can get custom strength and conditioning programs and access nutrition and wellness resources online.

DreamFighters.com: Thanks again for speaking with me Randy. We wish you the best of luck!

Randy Couture: Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.
