| EliteXC Draws 4.3 Million Viewers With "Heat" Posted on: Mon 06-Oct-2008 |
| While there are still some questions to be answered surrounding EliteXC's future, it appears as if the third installment of CBS Saturday Night Fights drew the ratings that both EliteXC and CBS were looking for. "Heat", featuring Gina Carano and Kimbo Slice drew 4.3 million viewers for the two-hour broadcast from 9-11 pm on Saturday night.
While not as popular as the first show, which drew 4.8 million people to their televisions, this is a huge increase from the second broadcast, which only managed to nab 2.6 million viewers and led to people questioning EliteXC's future on the network. The number for the "Heat" broadcast could still go up once the 20-minute overrun (which featured Kimbo Slice in the main event) is factored in. Despite the strong numbers for viewership, Saturday Night Fights still fell last among broadcast networks, with Fox, ABC and NBC all ending up ahead. ABC was expected to be ahead due to their live college football broadcast, but NBC was showing a repeat program, which can be viewed as a slight disappointment. |
